Join NWU’s virtual donor drive and help save lives! Students, alumni, and staff can register to become potential stem cell donors, offering hope to patients diagnosed with blood cancer and blood disorders who are in need of life-saving matches. Your registration could make a difference.
Ayyub and Abu-Taalib, two young patients diagnosed by NWU’s Centre for Human Metabolomics, faced the life-threatening blood disorder Adrenoleukodystrophy, requiring stem cell transplants. While they were in the need for donors, countless other patients with blood cancer and blood disorders are still searching for matching donors.
NWU’s Centre for Human Metabolomics played a critical role in diagnosing these patients, highlighting the importance of stem cell donations in saving lives. To continue this mission, NWU is hosting a virtual donor drive in collaboration with DKMS Africa, encouraging students, alumni, and staff to register as potential life-saving donors.
By registering, you could provide hope for patients like Ayyub and Abu-Taalib and so many others who are still waiting for a matching donor. The process is simple, but the impact could be life-changing for someone in need of a transplant. Join us and be the match that offers a second chance at life.
