Nevin's journey took an unexpected turn when he visited the hospital for a colonoscopy. However, after blood tests were done, doctors found some irregularities, which led to a bone marrow biopsy, confirming the Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) diagnosis.
Nevin describes his journey as a "roller coaster." The news shattered his family, who have held onto their faith despite the incredibly tough journey.
He spent 26 days in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy, with more treatments following. Life as he knew it changed dramatically. Nevin, who was always active and constantly on the go, is now isolated to avoid infections. He has not been to work for four months, a stark contrast to his previously busy life.
