Help Lindiwe Fight Blood Cancer

Lindiwe (49) is a mother of two who is in desperate need of a second chance at life to be with her precious sons. With your help, she may be able to find a matching stem cell donor. SHARE this story and get your friends to register as a stem cell donor to give Lindiwe a fighting chance.

Lindiwe started experiencing increased dizziness and persistent headaches that led her to visit to her doctor which determined that she had low blood pressure. After a doctor’s referral and further tests, Lindiwe was diagnosed with Pure Red Cell Aplasia at Life Entabeni Hospital in May 2023.

Lindiwe is still able to work but finds it increasingly difficult as she relies on blood transfusions every two weeks at Life Entabeni Hospital, getting regular check-ups at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital as well. She is often admitted for three to five days at a time. Her life has changed drastically, finding herself dependent on her 24-year-old son to assist her. For Lindiwe and her family, things have been increasingly difficult as her 13-year-old son is also facing his own medical challenges-requiring an operation soon.

“If someone can be my stem cell donor, please can you help me so that I can be able to look after my boys. No parent should be reliant on their child for support at a young age, it should be the other way around,” says Lindiwe.

As a people’s person who loves spending time with family and friends, help give Lindiwe hope by registering to become a stem cell donor.

Remember, all costs related to the donation process are taken care of by DKMS Africa. You will not be asked to pay for anything.
